Introducing Our Five-Day Kindergarten Program

Nurturing Young Minds for a Bright Future

Catholic Education Tasmania believe that the early years are crucial for a child’s development. Our kindergarten program is designed to foster a love for learning, creativity, and social skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our Philosophy

We aim to create a balanced and engaging curriculum that promotes:

  • Curiosity: Encouraging exploration and discovery.
  • Creativity: Providing opportunities for self-expression through art, music, and play.
  • Community: Building friendships and learning to work together.

Flexible Scheduling

To accommodate the diverse needs of families, selected schools offer a flexible Kindergarten schedule operating five days a week. Parents/Carers can choose a minimum of three days for their child, with the option to request additional days based on availability. This flexibility ensures that families can tailor their child’s learning experience to fit their lifestyle.

Learning Through Intentional PlayA7402956 (1).JPG

Embracing Play as a Pathway to Learning

At many of our schools, we recognise that play is a vital component of early childhood education. Our approach emphasises intentional play, where activities are thoughtfully designed to enhance learning outcomes while fostering creativity, problem-solving, and social skills.

What is Intentional Play?

Intentional play involves creating engaging and purposeful experiences that support children's developmental needs. Our educators carefully plan activities that encourage exploration, collaboration, and critical thinking.

Benefits of Intentional Play

  • Cognitive Development: Play-based activities stimulate curiosity and enhance cognitive skills, such as memory, reasoning, and language.
  • Social Skills: Children learn to share, negotiate, and cooperate with peers, building important interpersonal skills.
  • Emotional Growth: Play provides opportunities for self-expression and helps children manage emotions in a supportive environment.
  • Physical Development: Active play promotes motor skills and overall physical health through movement and exploration.

By integrating intentional play into our curriculum, we create a dynamic learning environment where children are excited to discover, learn, and grow.
